Hi ladies
This is a cautionary tale to balance all those stories from women wishing they’d gone bigger.
I did lots of reading before embarking on my surgery to correct tuberous breasts and substantial asymmetry. I wore a 14A pre-op (spilling a bit out of the left cup, and 2/3 filling the right cup).
I wanted the smallest implants possible to fix my problems. I would have been happy to end up with two normal shaped, symmetrical A cups, but it was inevitable I’d have to go a bit bigger to get a normal shape. I’m 157cm (5ft 2in) tall, and 58kg (115-120lb maybe?) but my chest is wide.
My surgeon only uses Mentor implants. He chose the smallest ones in the catalog that fitted my chest width - the low height moderate profile cohesive anatomical (teardrop) implants, one 12cm wide (235cc), the other 12.5cm wide (270cc). I expected to end up a large B cup or maybe a C, based on my having read that 135cc on average takes you up a cup size.
Well, I’m two weeks post op now, so they haven’t dropped yet, but I don’t see them getting any smaller. I had the implants over the muscle because I rock-climb and do paragliding so didn’t want to compromise chest strength. I had pretty minimal swelling and zero pain (weird, right?), even though I had a lollipop lift on one breast, and lots of electro cauterisation to move my breast creases lower (5cm lower on the right and 3cm lower on the left).
My new breasts looked HUGE to me in the mirror but I wondered if it was just that I wasn’t used to them yet. Today I went to buy a new bra and confirmed that they are indeed huge. I started by taking a 14B and 14C into the change room at the shop but neither had a hope of covering me. Same with the 14D. I’m either a 14DD or a 14E! I ended up buying a 14DD bra. Anything smaller simply didn’t fit.
The weird thing is that my bust measurement at the largest point is only 2cm or 3cm (1 inch) larger than it was before. That’s good because I still fit all my tops. But my breasts are so much wider and rounder and firmer than before that they fill up bra cups so much more.
Sooooo...just warning you!!
