1. STEP (Smart Traveller Enrollment) Program:
Please go to https://step.state.gov/step/ . This particular program is designed for people traveling overseas. It allows you to enter information about your upcoming trip abroad so that the Department of State can better assist you in an emergency.
2. The American Embassy Emergency Services:
(809) 221-2171 to speak to an American Citizen Services representative, or go to the main entry of the Consular section.
Monday - Thursday: 7:00 am. - 4:30 pm
Friday: 7:30 am - 11:30 am.
After Hours: call (809) 221-2171 and request to speak to the Duty Officer
Also you may need to keep the American embassy number on hand or give it to your love ones, in case of emergency. Their number is 1-809-221-2171.
3. Cosmetic Surgery in the Dominican Republic
Patients considering travel to the Dominican Republic for cosmetic surgery may also wish to contact the Dominican Society of Plastic Surgeons (tel. 809-688-8451) to verify the training, qualifications, and reputation of specific doctors.
