I'm booked in for a BA next Tuesday with Dr Michael Payne at Dolan Park in Bromsgrove- i've got absolutely no worries about my surgeon as i've only ever heard great reviews and during my consultation he was very informative and was more than happy to answer any questions that I had. He went through all of the risks and possible outcomes of surgery and even said that I didn't need surgery which I think shows honesty and integrity to its highest standard. I was that happy with how Dr Payne and my patient co-ordinator Rebecca had treated me during my consultation that I put the £500 deposit down on that day for my surgery to be the 26th of June 2016.I then asked if there were any cancellations/earlier dates available if Rebecca could contact me, she did this and gave me a choice of two dates and I chose for my BA to be moved to Tuesday 7th June 2016. I've since had my pre-op with a lady called Beth who is absolutely wonderful and I know it sounds cliche but felt more like a friend than a medical advisor - a week after I developed a chest infection for which I had to have antibiotics and Beth was so helpful and did everything in her power to help me through it ready for surgery. I've got my Macom sports bras, Arnica 30, Remescar and my travel pillow ready for my op (i've been advised that Remescar is AMAZING for the scarring afterwards) and in general I'm feeling pretty good about the fact I have a major operation in 6 days and that's genuinely all down to Dr Payne, Rebecca and Beth - based on my experience so far i'd recommend them to anyone, nothing seems like it's ever too much to ask from any of them and Rebecca and Beth have both replied to my emails extremely quickly, usually within 1 hour. I have however seen reviews about the general ward staff and heard that there are trays of food left in your room for hours on end and generally people have said that even though they've been booked in for an overnight stay that they've virtually had no sleep because of the noise from the farm next door. I've also read that the ward staff are not attentive at all and this is the only thing i'm worried about - for the money i'm paying I want people around me who make my stay easy and comfortable - has anyone else had any experiences they can share with me; bad or good? Thanks in advance!
