Hi everyone, I have been looking up all over the internet for infection treatment to try to calm myself down , but seems like I am that 1% unfortunate candidate who got implant infection.
There's one morning I woke up in huge pain on one side of my breasts, and when I checked on it, I saw white discharge and blood coming out of the incision, which apparently there's a small hole in the incision.
The infection did not happen shortly after the surgery, whether, it happened at the 6 weeks post op mark, which is quite odd that even my ps could not explain. I feel like there are several contributions to that:
1) i am too lean and my skin is not stretchy enough for implants, causing the stitch to open up and leaving a hole
2) incision not fully heal when they took off the tap
3) i might not be taking good care of it , ie didnt keep it dry or I might be applying the scar cream too harsh (I feel like I did a good job tho, anyhow)
I went to the ER immediately and they put me on IV antibiotics and did a swap test. At this moment that I'm writing my situation, I am on day3 IV and still in panic. The pain level has gone down, but I still feel extreme tightness in the infected breast, which is still abnormal and quite concerning to me cas I don't want any operation no more.
just want to share my experience and seeking for encouragement to feel not alone , is painful both mentally and physically , I feel like I just want to be pretty but end up hurting myself, please someone tell me this antibiotics gonna save me:(
