Choosing a red/near infrared device?

More about LED Light Therapy

Hi, I am interested in purchasing a red / near infrared light therapy device. There are quite a few a light therapy devices available on the market these days. They seems fail into two main categories. 1. Handheld devices, like the LZR Ultrabrite, that provide a small treatment area and are used for a short duration. 30 sec to 2 minutes 2. Large panel devices like the Joov products that  provide a larger treatment area,  but require a longer treatment duration. I'm assuming that the handheld devices provide more intense light, while the panel devices are less intense. So it seems like a trade off between: [Large Panel Devices] less intensity, larger treatment area, longer treatment time. And [Small Handheld devices] more intensity, smaller treatment area, less treatment time. It seems like both types could be useful under different circumstances. Am I correct in my assumptions? Is there anything else I should be aware of when researching light therapy devices? Sorry for the book. LOL. Thanks for any comments
