Can't close my lips comfortably with aligners in!

I am one week into my first set of trays and I am having a great deal of pain in my cheeks and chin because I have to force my lips to close over my aligners.  And it is quite noticeable, there is no comfortable way to hold my (aching) jaw so I'm either gaping open or wrinkling up my chin trying to clamp my lips closed, I look ridiculous (and I've taken comparison pictures to be sure I'm not being paranoid, I'm not!)!  I am not sure whether I can do this for a year.  Does anyone else have this problem?  Does it get better?
