Compression bra

Last night, in preparation for my pre-op visit tomorrow, I read all of the notes on my PS's website about post surgery care. I was shocked to see that it says I'll need to wear the compression bra they give me for FOUR weeks. Is that consistent with what other women have been told? At the risk of being vain, I was looking forward to wearing something strapless about two weeks after surgery, and thought I could wear one of my front closing bandeau strapless bras. Not the worst thing in the world if I can't, but it sure would be nice if my surgeon says that four weeks is not really necessary. Also, I have about 10 different bras (it's hard not to when they are $10 and $15 after years of spending $75 for a bra!), 8 of which close in the front, but I'm guessing I don't really need that many if I need to wear the compression bra for so long. After four weeks, shouldn't I be able to fasten a back closing bra? Thanks all! One more week...
