Had DCIS cancer last summer and a lumpectomy followed by radiation. A year later the cancer surgeon recommended surgery to make them equal. I met with the plastic surgeon (he recommended) and thought we were on the same page. I had 3 before meetings with the doctor and felt comfortable with him. Had the surgery beginning of October. I asked for 3 things. 1.) I wanted the radiated breast to have the knot that is hard inside to be taken out, no matter how small. 2.)Wanted the other breast reduced to match (same size). 3.) Wanted them both lifted and nipple reduced. 8 weeks out I found a pre-surgery bra that I tried on to see how much was reduced. Been wearing sport support bras as recommended on Realself. They are the SAME size they were before the surgery. Yes they were lifted and the nipple reduced. But I have had no instruction on what to do or not do. Other then "take it easy" as per the recover nurse and at the 4 week appointment was told to put lotion? because the skin was dry...see you in 6 weeks and they look good. No further instructions. The girls are almost back to what they were before surgery. The are laying on the chest without a bra and are still 2 different sizes ( C and DD) . I am almost out of sick days from the 5 weeks I used for appointments and surgery. All I do is sit alone and cry. Thought it would be so different.... Any suggestions? I don't go back for a follow up till after New Years.
