Hi Ladies!I am a 27 year old based in Oshawa, Ontario. I was a 34G before losing approximately 30 pounds. I've gotten down to a 32E but am still experiencing back and neck pain daily (especially when doing any activity that requires me to have my arms outstretched), plus I've developed sciatica over the past four months. It was the sciatica that really pushed me to finally talk to my family doctor about a possible breast reduction. He referred me to a PS and I met her just over seven weeks ago. She said that I am a candidate for the surgery (yay) and that she would be submitting a form to OHIP to request that my BR be covered. She said it can take 6-8 weeks or longer for OHIP to come back with a decision. I called my PS's office and they said OHIP has introduced stricter rules for the evidence they need to approve funding for a breast reduction. The nurse said OHIP had returned my application, requesting more information, which they filled out and have now sent back the request for a second time. Just wondering what everyone's experience has been who had the surgery covered by OHIP, especially recently? How long did you wait for approval? How long after approval was your surgery scheduled? There is basically no information online as to wait times, and I am so eager to get the surgery (as I'm sure you can relate to), and now I'm worried I may get denied. Thank you in advance!!! Any information would be super helpful :)
