I had a BodyTite procedure last year in May. During my consultation, prior to the procedure, my plastic surgeon was not sure if BodyTite would provide the results needed/expected. He and I agreed that if another procedure needed to be done, he would charge a small amount to cover operation room fees, only. Over the course of this past year, since having the procedures, I had visited my plastic surgeon for follow-ups. My swelling took an extremely long time to heal, and he didn't want to make a decision on another procedure, until the swelling was gone.
The last time I saw my plastic surgeon was in January, 2020. During that appointment, he felt that the swelling wasn't completely gone. However, he did say that it seems another procedure would likely be needed, based on what he was seeing. He told me to come back for another follow-up in July, 2020. This is where things start to go awry - He left the practice/facility that he was working with in March, 2020. I received an email stating that he is no longer affiliated with the original facility, and that he has a new address and phone number. I've called his new number numerous times, but it always goes to voicemail. I've left messages, but haven't received any calls back.
The original facility called me about a week prior to the follow-up appointment I had for July, 2020. They were calling to let me know that he's no longer affiliated with them. I mentioned that I received the email, and that I keep calling the new number, but no one calls back. They provided me with his cell phone number. Since then, I've called and left several voicemails on his cell phone number - again, no call back.
I would not be pursuing this if I felt that my procedure was adequate. Now that my swelling has subsided, I'm seeing some lumps from the procedure. As well, I truly feel that more can/should be done, based upon our conversations prior to the surgery, and afterwards.
I don't know what recourse I have, if any. I find it very odd that his new office number and his cell phone always goes to voicemail, and I don't get any calls back. Posting here for advice...or, next steps. Thanks for reading!
