Swelling Tips

  • Relax – stress free zones only
  • Don’t fight it
  • When you swell, kick your feet up and give it up
  • Go slow and don’t overdo it!  Your body will kick you back.
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Stay away from processed foods – SODIUM BOMBS
  • Ice packs – use bags of frozen peas
  • Massage the area

My Aching Back – you must do gentle stretching

  • Lay on the bed with your knees bent and feet flat on the mattress.  At a slow pace lower your legs flat.  Lay like this for a few minutes at a time.  Do this several times a day.  This will take you some time, but keep at it and your aching lower back will ease up.
  • Apply heat or ice packs – which ever feels better to you at the time
  • Massage the lower back
