I had a breast reduction in early February 2025 - it was a super easy surgery, I was beyond ecstatic with the outcome (it was/is exactly what I wanted and envisioned), I didn't have an nausea from the anesthetic post-surgery, breezed through the first week with the drains in, went to my 2 week follow up and eveything looked so good that my surgeon said "see you in June". Everything seemed to be healing ok (super slow, but I knew from reading other reviews that was to be expected). And then.... all hell broke loose between months 3 and 4 with lots of abcesses, raw painful skin, etc. starting to appear around the nipple incisions and down the front along the incision lines. My bottom, under the breast incisions have healed beautifully with no issues at all, but I just can't seem to make much progress in getting the abcessses, etc. in the front healed. I don't drink, I'm eating super healthy, lots of protein, drinking lots of water and taking the zinc and Vitamin C that my sugeaon recommended. I'm getting good sleep and not overdoing it (I haven't been back to the gym since before my surgery). I'm working with my surgeon - he's given me a cleaning/healing protocol and I see him every 2 weeks or so, but I just can't seem to make any real progress - I need hope!
Has anyone else experienced something similar? I'm trying to stay so positive and I know I'm doing everything I can to heal so I guess that I'm looking for encouragement/affirmation that someday, this is going to be behind me and I'll look normal again. I'm starting month 5 post-op this week and it's beyond me as to why all of this is happeneing. Any insight or encouragement would be most helpful.
