I am a woman in my 50s. I had a deep plane neck lift in 2022 and I was thrilled to get rid of my jowls/saggy turkey neck. I was also happy to finally have an angled jaw-to-neck profile, something I didn't even have in my 20's. My face was very swollen for months after the surgery so it took time to see the issues. I was left with what I looked up as "cobra neck" (a botched neck lift according to Google) where the middle part of the neck is tight but there's lumps that hang on either side. I asked my doctor about this over the year as I healed and he said it was because I had done too many radio frequency treatments (I did Ultherapy treatments in 2014). My neck got worse with time and I went to see him 3 years later this year for a revision (if I had the revision done in the first year I would have paid way less, but that's another story.) So he admitted that "technology has changed" (and didn’t blame me for the radio frequency treatments) and there was indeed an issue with my neck when looked at the photos. So I had revision surgery where he opened up the original scar under my chin to fix it. 4 months later, the ‘cobra neck’ is gone but I now have other bands around my throat. When I saw him for a follow up and he injected them with steroids a few weeks ago, but I don't see any difference.
Has anyone else experienced these bands after a deep plane neck lift? Can they be fixed? Did I get a bad facelift?
