Hi! I’m a guy in my 20s who wants to slim down and define his lower face. I’ve already had a buccal lipectomy and gotten a chin implant. While I liked the results, I wanted a bit more.
I talked to Dr. Barry Eppley, expecting him to suggest jaw or cheek implants, given that I had already lost the fat pads. Instead, he recommended perioral liposuction and buccinator myectomy.
Perioral liposuction is extremely rare, and it seems like only Eppley performs buccinator myectomies (it basically involves removing some cheek muscle to create a hollowed look).
It felt like exactly what I needed, but I didn't know it was an option. Both procedures seem low risk and affordable.
I'm thinking about going for it, but I'm curious if anyone here has experience with either procedure or any thoughts at all.
Thanks!
