Good day y'all!
In 2016 I stupidly got talked into getting three vials of Radiesse in my gace during a vulnerable time in my life, by an uscrupulpus doctor (who has since closed his clinic). I had modeled and had a conventionally pretty face before this, and was only 28 years old at the time. This doctor ruined my facial proportions but doing a terrible job! I made this post back then https://www.realself.com/question/seattle-wa-radiesse-nightmare-ignore-previous-post-picture-upload
I got an adverse reaction to the Radiesse, getting lumps in my chin that luckily resolved after 9 months post injection. While the worst of the Radiesse was also gone after 9 months, my face did not return to its-pre Radiesse state until this year: 9 years post-Radiesse injection. This humbling experience sprinboarded me into a self-love and self-acceptance journey, realizing I had been overly concerned about my appearance. So in the grand scheme of things, it was a net positive in my life. However, I feel it is necessary to caution people against every getting this filler. Doctors insisted here and elsewhwere that it would be gone in a year or two; false! It lasted 9 years for me. And no, I did not recently lose weight. The Radiesse lasted in my face for a whopping 9 years. Other posts from people who have had Radiesse show similar, that this filler can last wayyyyy longer than is stated by doctors.
It is odd to see my 28 year old face come back after just turning 38. In some ways, it feels weird too me, as I have since gotten use to the new Radiesse me. I feel like I look better being back to my old self, and will never again let insecurity make me change my looks in a drastic way. To all reading this, please go with fillers that can be dissolved, don't do Radiesse.
