I have post inflammatory hyper pigmentation on my forehead that was caused because of a glycolic acid peel done on my face some 20 years back. The pigmentation has persisted over the last 20 years and has not gone yet. And I have tried almost everything. very recently. I got to know about the Picosecond Laser and I have started getting some sessions done of it. It seems to be working but ever so very slightly and very slowly so I don't know how many sessions would I require of the Picosecond laser.

So in the meantime, I was thinking about incorporating another treatment routine, which is use Tranexamic Acid. But I am a little torn between does toxic acid work best if taken orally? or does it also work if applied topically also immediately after a procedure like micro-needling or Dermaroller. I am looking for a feedback from people here who have taken Tranexamic acid tablets orally. Is it safe? Does it give any side effect? is there any pre-screening test that one needs to go before doing it? What kind of test did you guys get?
