Skin pinch after lower eyelid blepharoplasty?

I had a lower eyelid blepharoplasty, but the surgeon decided not to remove any excess skin during the procedure to be on the safe side, so that he would not be risking ectropian. However, after the surgery I have excess skin under the eyes and he said I could come back in for either laser treatment or a skin pinch. I think the best way to ensure this issue is corrected is the skin pinch, but am afraid of ectropian happening. Also I have heard that the recovery time for skin pinch is the same as it was for the bleph, and it was NOT an easy recovery. Does anyone have experience with a lower blepharoplasty followed by a skin pinch later? I would really appreciate advice.
