Has anyone ever been on Suboxone while getting breast augmentation? I am prescribed suboxone currently and have been on it for a few years, I'm concerned about how pain management will work for me after surgery. For those of you who don't know Suboxone (buprenorphine) is a medication that prevents withdrawal & cravings from opiate dependency. People are prescribed it for all different reasons, I myself had an addiction and Suboxone saved me. I'm not here to be shunned for being a recovering addict I'm here for advice.Going off my Suboxone is not an option, I can take pain medication while on it but I will have an artifically high tolerance because of the Suboxone. There is a misconception out there that if you take pain meds with Suboxone in your system instant withdrawal will occur, trust me, that is not the case. I broke my leg less than a year ago and was given Diladin & regular morphine having just taken suboxone that day before the accident and I did not get sick, I just needed much more pain meds than an average person. My PS is contacting my prescribing doctor of Suboxone to ask what he thinks is best, I haven't heard anything back. I don't want to stop my Suboxone because I will get sick and I need to be healthy for surgery.Has anyone else succesfully stayed on Suboxone while getting breast implants without putting themselves through unneeded pain during recovery?
