I wish I had come across this forum before I had my surgery. After reading this I recognize I'm probably premature in my complaints and concerns but maybe someone can give me a little advise to get me past this first hurdle. Ten days ago I had a full face lift (neck, cheeks, eyes and forehead) I am 53 years old and was told by everyone I didn't need this. Unfortunately vanity got the best of me. My main complaint at the moment (ignoring the expected chin strap feeling and overall numbness) is the swollen "chip monk" cheek look and feel. I had this surgery shortly after meeting an amazing man and starting an exciting new relationship. The surgery was planned before we met and I was determined to follow through with it. I have not seen him since the surgery (at my insistence) because I don't want to scare him away! I was hoping after a few weeks I would be somewhat presentable but I'm feeling so discouraged. Again the cheeks being my main concern... I simply can't let him see me like this. Can any one give me advise on how to help with the cheek swelling?
