Hello everyone! I've been reading some of the post on here in the past couple of days and it has been a wealth of information for me. I am almost 57 and have a history of health issues and think it best that I go forward and remove these 32 year old implants now. Triple bypass and coratid artery surgery along with iliac stents at 44 years old to mention a few problems I've had. Gallbladder removed, hysterectomy, and the list goes on the last biggy was cervical vertebrae plate with bone grafts 11 months ago. One of my many other issues is constant benign cyst in my breast causing repeats of mammograms and ultra sounds. Most recent mammogram done on Oct. 8. Density category 3: which makes it difficult to see mass in them. Benign-appearing fibroglandular and fibrofatty echotexture is seen throughout both breast. There is benign-appearing cyst in the retroareolar right breast 9 o'clock measuring 0.8 cm length and another benign-appearing cyst is seen in the left breast 2 o'clock periareolar posterior position measuring 0.7 cm length. One week after that mammogram a Cat Scan done to check on a esophagus mass that was seen after the cervical surgery, fortunately that mass was due to the surgery and is now cleared up. But the CAT scan done for that showed a possible implant rupture on left side. The report says... There is a probable rupture of the left breast margin with some extrusion of implant material into the lateral subcutane changes. Partial Rupture of the left breast implant with extruded material noted late unchanged. These are implants from the early 80's Dow Corning Saline. I thought saline was suppose to be absorbed so I'm wondering what they are talking about "extruded material"? I'm assuming this last mammogram is what caused the rupture if there is one. I've had connective tissue issues and joint pain for years. This year along have had surgeries on trigger fingers, tested for lupus, fibromailagia and on and on. Believe it or not I still am extremely active even though I ache constantly and suffer with fatigue but I refuse to let it get me down. Another reason I am wanting these taken out. I don't need them bringing me down anymore or possibly obstructing something more serious in a mammogram. I am extremely worried about doing another surgery since I've been under anesthesia so much this year. I'm on blood thinners for the heart disease also so I'm worried about the bleeding during the surgery and wondering if anyone can tell me if they have had a bleeding issue afterwards. And are these cyst I have right now going to be a problem? And can anyone recommend a doctor in Louisiana? I have an appointment with one PS tomorrow and another one the next day. But not sure of their qualifications yet.
