I underwent a lip lift in the recent past and ended up having an unexpected complication: a hypertrophic scar on one side of the ala. While I am still happy with the results of the lip lift, the scar is distressing and something I am actively working to correct. I am considering a revision lip lift to remove the scar.
Recently I’ve noticed more doctors offering a corner lip lift, and I’ve noticed that my own lips have a down turned look to them due to signs of aging. I have injected my DAO area (the depressor angulis ori muscle located below the corner of the mouth and attaches at the chin) with Botox but this is only a temporary fix. I am considering adding the corner lip lift to my revision lip lift procedure, but I am concerned about any additional visible scarring.
Has anyone had a corner lip lift performed? How was your healing? Do you think the risk of scarring is worth it?
