In 2020, I did 4 sessions of Emsculpt Neo and saw really impressive results. My lower stomach pooch was noticeably flatter and overall my abdomen was much more sculpted, but especially the obliques. The device works, which is obviously the most important consideration when deciding whether to invest thousands into a noninvasive treatment. But in my opinion, it’s so uncomfortable that I’d opt for truFlex if I were deciding between the two again. One thing to keep in mind: I haven’t had a child, and I’ve heard from mom friends who get Emsculpt for their postpartum diastasis recti that they find the treatment feels like a nice, therapeutic workout.
Caveat: I’ve done truFlex three times non-consecutively over two or three years, so I can’t measure the results of it against Emsculpt accurately, but they both make my abs feel sore in the same way the day following treatment and I notice ab strength and better balance and posture from both in the weeks after.
Whereas Emsculpt feels like it’s pulling my muscle bands up and out of my stomach (I liken it to an alien abduction sort of sensation…like you’re lying on your back and this device attached to your abdomen is trying to lift you up into the sky) and leaves me almost short of breath, truFlex feels more like intense tickling that makes me let out an uncontrollable laugh every few minutes. Neither are relaxing, but truFlex is significantly more pleasant. Both also get hot (that’s where the fat-burning comes in), but Emsculpt can get really hot at times and leaves my skin fairly red for half a day.
