I got fat grafting on the left side of my face due to some steroid atrophy I had from a nerve block and chronic pain on that side. The original area was a small area under my eye. My surgeon convinced me at the last minute to add fat all over my cheek to temple and my forehead, and he said it wouldn’t be noticeable when I said I didn’t want it there. I’m 8 months post op, and I absolutely hate all of it. It is so physically uncomfortable - I feel totally distorted because the fat graft is only on my left side, and I have hard lumps in my forehead extending to the bridge of my nose that are causing severe chronic headaches. Aesthetically, I am also extremely unhappy with it. The fat does not follow the natural contour of my face and extends too far up my temple and too close to the outer side of my eye. One side of my eyebrow protrudes a noticeable amount, and it feels like it’s stuffed with rocks. My surgeon finally agreed to do some micro liposuction on my temple and cheekbone, but he did not remove enough (or at all) where I needed it, and took too much out on my zygomatic arch so that I have a dent there when I smile and I can feel my bone right through my skin. Words cannot express how upsetting, enraging, and depressing this is. I want almost all of it out, and I need to find a surgeon who is more specialized in facial fat grafting revision and removal. I live in Ohio but am willing to travel anywhere to find someone experienced and competent. Please let me know if anyone has had any experience with facial fat graft removal and who is best to see for this. Thank you!!!
