9 months ago I had an otoplasty, and a couple of months after the surgery I was happy with the result. Unfortunately, the ears continued to relapse into their original position, despite the surgeon removing the "conch" or "cup" behind the ear. Over the past couple of months I have started to become more and more self conscious about my ears again. I've been comparing some old photos and today I took a photo from the same angle and the same distance away as one I had from a couple of years ago. My ears don't look like they've changed a whole lot. I'm feeling pretty down about this as I managed to get this surgery done in between jobs and take 3 weeks off for it. I thought it would be a one time thing. I have emailed the surgeon and asked some general questions about a revision, but I'm wondering whether it'd be better to go with a different surgeon. It's very hard to find surgeons who specialise in Otoplasty in the UK. Most of them just seem to have it listed alongside various other surgeries. Ideally I want my ears to be as close to my head as possible. I have measured the distance between my scalp and the outer rim of each ear and currently they sit at 2.2cm and 3cm, which is considered prominent (2cm plus is considered prominent). I would be interested to know some recommendations for the absolute best otoplasty surgeons in the UK. Also I have attached photos of before and after. The mirror selfie is reversed so that it matches up with the photo from a few years ago so you can see it better
