Is there a dementia risk with propofol for facelift?

I am a science/medical writer who reads research papers every day. I am very stunned to learn that benzodiazepines use for years, even low dosage, enormously raises the risk for dementia. And I recently read a study sounding an alarm about propofol which is now linked to dementia risk and amyloid beta peptide buildup. Are there other alternatives for anesthesia for facelifts? Are you bothered at all by the propofol news?
