Can you wear your hair in a ponytail?

Hi everyone,I'm scheduled for a facelift and fat grafting in September where I have a block of 5 weeks to recover and avoid curious stares and questions. I'm concerned about the scars.I've seen 3 PS and have found one I'm comfortable with and who has also done a great job with my friend's eyes (upper and lower). He has over 30 years of experience and lots of letters and affiliations behind his name, so accreditation is good. He also has good reviews. We had an hour long consultation and looked through 2 big binders of before and after pictures. I feel good about my choice. He says for the best results, the incisions will go around the front of my ear up to the back of my ear and across into my hair. I've attached a photo. My question is: for those of you with this type of incision, can you wear your hair up in a ponytail and if so, how long did it take before you could do so? What scar minimizing techniques worked?Thanks in advance for your help!
