I went in surgery on Aug 24, 2013 for liposuction. My surgeon lipo'd areas I never gave consent to (seems to happen quite often but no surgeon ever admits to it) because of this I now have problem areas (refer to my review). It is January 28, 2014 I am 5 months post op and I still have excruciating pain mostly where my skin has adhered to my muscle. Why don't surgeons warn us about skin to muscle adherence when liposuction often results in this complication quite often, its very painful and skin to muscle adherence constricts mobility? Besides the skin adherence, these are the complications I still live with: ongoing numbnessongoing problems with swelling (mainly on my right leg)ongoing burning/pulling sensationlumpy, bumpy, hard and fibrous fatexcessive amount of scar tissuehypopigmentation and hyperpigmentation disturbing areas of loose skinunsightly dents stretchmarks due to ripping/adhered skinmajor (negative) body contour changes - my waist, looks like this | | rather than this ) ( loss of feminine curveslarge incision holeslong-lasting and chronic paindisturbing regrowth of fat in weird places feelings of anger, depression, and despair over being violatedfeelings of betrayal by my surgeon Raul Gongora loss of confidenceloss of social life and strained relationships due to surgeryFeelings of betrayal to learn that liposuction is linked to disease processes, proven in studiesDid your surgeon warn you about skin adherence / skin grafting at all? Til this day I have no idea what my consent form read because the form was literally taken away from my hands shortly after they pressured me into signing immediately. Did they pressure you? I have attached an image of the zones of adherence. Women talk about "doing their research" before liposuction, but there are things like skin adherence and disease processes that are not talked about. Did you know that there are areas where your surgeon is not supposed to insert a cannula? My surgeon failed to abide by the zones of adherence. I have 2 incisions on my lateral thigh that are marked in red in the zones of adherence chart. Do you have any incisions that have adhered to your underlying tissue?
