Hard white specs in nostril after septorhinoplasty

I am almost 4 weeks post-op for septorhinoplasty with turbinate reductions due to a broken nose and deviated septum. The swelling and discomfort are going down as expected. However, I feel hard spots inside the top of my nostrils, mostly the left side, and the tip of my nose is still sensitive. I thought maybe it was scabbing, but was able to look inside my nose and see today that there are hard white specs. They don't look like stitches and I assume those would be gone by now. Has anyone else experienced this? My surgeon said I didn't need any follow up appointments after the stents were removed, so I hesitate to reach out to him again.
