I have decided to remove my 20 year old textured saline sub muscle implants. With no replacement. Ready to have my natural body back. Had BA in '95. Breastfed two children. No issues...until spring of 2014.I began experiencing burning/pain radiating to my chest wall on the left side...and also shooting burning pains in my armpit. This came and went. Then in Sept of 2014 the pain became constant...and now travels down my left arm. I had my last mammogram in June 2014. Normal results. In December 2014 I met with my GP...who reffered me to a breast specialist...who it turns out does not do explant surgeries...so she recommended I see a plastic surgeon for removal. In the mean time my GP has ordered a diagnositc mammogram & unltrasound. I have an appointment with a plastic surgeon on Friday 1/16/15.I am curious to know if any other ladies had diagnosticic imaging done prior to their consultation with a plastic surgeon for removal? I am also wondering what the recovery time was for anyone that had both their implant & the capsule removed? I will repost again after my consultation on Friday. This site has been wonderful in collecting data while making this decision. I look forward to hearing any thoughts you all may have on my upcoming procedure.
