Hi guys, I'm coming to you with an embarrassing problem, that unfortunately nobody seems to have much experience with. I would be tremendously happy if any of you have had similar experiences to mine and could share some advice, or if anyone at all could give me a bit of advice, to be honest. So, I'll begin.Around a year ago I contracted HPV, which manifested as both internal and external anal warts. To cut a long story short, I had laser surgery to remove the warts, and afterwards ended up with bad scarring. I have scars both on the outside of my anus, which now looks 'messy' - parts protruding, uneven, completely stiff on the right side, and internally, which make anal sex extremely uncomfortable. I am a gay man, and prefer to be the receiving partner in anal sex, and the scars have basically ended my sex life. My anus was a part of my body essential to my sexuality and it now looks deformed. I feel ashamed and uncomfortable during intimacy, and also experience a lot of pain, as the internal scar tissue can't stretch, is extremely sensitive and often leads to fissures.I have scoured the net numerous times, but have only found a few people who have had similar experiences to mine, and they were all also looking for answers. Basically what I want is a method to somehow reduce the appearance of these scars. I have tried cocoa butter, aloe vera, honey, and over the counter scar creams, and nothing has helped so far. I have been to dermatologists and proctologists, both of which could only offer me their sympathy. The proctologist told me scar removal surgery could be an option, but this was unfortunately not covered by my insurance. So, please, if anyone could perhaps offer some advice on how to deal with these scars, I would really be very grateful! Thanks!Mark
