I gave birth August 30,2017 to a beautiful baby girl, although I was ecstatic to be pregnant with her my second child, I experienced on and off again hormonal break outs through out the pregnancy and even worst since I’ve given birth which will almost be a year now. My doctors led me to believe that once I had the baby and stopped breast feeding my face would go back to normal which wasn’t the truth in my case. Right now my face is horribly broken out, I barely wear makeup but it’s to the point where I’m tempted to not want to leave the house without it. Having acne especially as a adult is so embarrassing & can lower your self asteem so much. You just want to hide away and not let anyone stare at your bumps not even your loved ones. My break outs are cystic painful deep bumps on my cheeks , jaw line & chin. I cleanse my face constantly , use natural estringents , changed my diet and drink lots of water to no prevail. I went back to my derm this week and I was prescribed 100 mg of Spironolactone to take daily along with tretinion .25% gel to apply nightly. My doctor recommended to cleanse with ivory soap let skin dry for 20 minutes then apple the gel but I’ve been using PenOxyl acne cream wash then apply the gel. My doctor also told me no moisturizers but around my nosebleed creases and below my lower lip gets so dry and itchy it’s a must I applying something those areas. My cystic acne are causing lots of scarring and hyperpigmentation even if I don’t touch them. There leaving dark marks on my already well melanin skin. I’m not exactly sure why that is happened but the dark marks are causing more insecurities than the actual break outs :/ today is day 2 of me using Spironolactone. So far my skin is still really bad (which I know its way to soon to see results) but I did want to share my journey with others and hopefully may help someone else. So far my skin has broken out more over night since I’ve started the gel and pills. I’ve gotta gotten about 3 more painful bumps over night . Side effects from the medicine so far I’ve experienced frequent urination, slight light headed was, nausea & I had a really bad headache yesterday once I first took it so far today I’m headache clear. Although today I decided to split the pill in half I took 50 mg in the morning WITH FOOD ! & I took the second doze tonight which I am soon heading to bed. Im also applying “illuma intense lightening serum ” for my dark marks, I will include my pictures and keep you guys updated on my journey. Although they say it takes about 3 months to see full results of the medication I’m praying for results and faster ones at that so I can have a more happier confident life ! Pray for me
